Spring String Ensemble

The String Department at The Gibraltar Academy of Music and Performing Arts has organized a concert as part of our development programme with the Paco de Lucia conservatorio professional de musica de Algeciras.   String students and teachers from both institutions will be performing together in this concert which will be the first of many in our cultural interchange programme.  It is a great way to have our students experience different teachers and listen to their peers.  The concert will see soloists, trios, and ensembles including a cello ensemble and violin ensembles.  Also featured will be Anna Chirova on Piano who will be accompanying the string players.   Some of the highlights of the concert will be Bach’s Double Violin Concert and the trio playing Oblivion by Piazzolla.  The highlight of the concert will be the mini orchestra of 20 students from both GAMPA and the Conservatorio on Violins and Cellos.  This will see a union between children brought together by music and will surely prove to be special.

This concert will be raising funds for Action 4 Schools and their “Water-Well”  programme and will also feature St Paul's First School Choir

The Spring String Ensemble Concert is the perfect start to Spring and will take place on Thursday 22nd March at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity at 7:30pm.  Tickets are available at the door at £8 for adults and £4 for students.  Don’t miss this magical evening .
